Improving the ticketing experience has been identified as a key focus for the FAB. Despite repeated discussions in previous meetings, fans continue to report significant issues, including:
Difficulty contacting the club via phone lines.
Poor functionality and usability of the ticketing website.
Slow or unresponsive communication via the ticketing social media accounts.
Frustrations with the process of collecting tickets for European away matches.
Update: You can see the findings of a ticketing experience survey of Villa supporters here - ticketing report.
Are you a season ticket holder? Is the club's current 20% tax on ticket reselling, both unfair and putting you off using the system? Please, share your views on the club's ticketing resale system here.
Ensuring Villa Park is accessible to all fans is another priority for the FAB. While some steps have been taken, the club still aren't fully compliant with the Premier League in terms of accessability and disability stadium spaces. It's a difficult task for the club to retro fit an older stadium with the modern day requirements, but nonetheless there are requirements to meet.
Update: The FAB were promised a dedicated meeting within four weeks of the FAB meeting on September 11th. We are still waiting for this meeting to happen (12/24).
Following its evolution from the Villa Fan Consultation Group, the FAB has gained valuable insights into what works, where challenges exist, and how to unlock new potential. For 2025, we’ve refined our focus to be more proactive rather than reactive, and established new priorities:
Villa FAB Online Portal: This platform has been created to enhance transparency and supporter involvement. It’s your hub to track FAB developments, provide feedback and ideas, and stay informed. Also, please use #AVFCFAB on social media to alert the FAB to supporter issues or opinions. Ultimately, the FAB's success depends on your involvement.
Code of Conduct: A new written code of conduct will ensure FAB members actively represent their respective groups and consistently participate in meetings.
Extended Network: We aim to expand participation by creating additional channels for Villans to contribute to FAB agendas and meetings.
Despite being a volunteer group, this refocus marks a renewed commitment to ensuring the FAB grows into a stronger, more representative voice for all Aston Villa supporters in 2025 and beyond.
Ticket pricing remains an area of increasing concern. Last season, a FAB request to cap Champions League ticket prices at CAT A Premier League prices was rejected. As a result, general admission prices for standing areas (rail seats) on the Holte End can now reach £94, compared to just £41 for the Kop at Anfield.
These escalating prices come after three successive increases in season ticket and matchday prices, raising serious concerns about affordability for supporters. The FAB is committed to continuing discussions with the club to address this issue and advocate for fairer pricing structures.
With the latest plans for the development of the North Stand announced, we will strive to obtain a clearer picture and timetable of development, and how it will impact supporters.
The ongoing redevelopment of Villa Park is a critical project for both the club and its supporters. The FAB is closely monitoring the plans to ensure they align with fan expectations and to insure they are now communicated clearly to supporters.
